Become a Foster Parent

One of the first things prospective foster parents must do is get fingerprinted.  This is a very important step because it protects the children and the integrity of the program.  Fingerprints must be approved y the State of California Department of Justice before a candidate can become certified.  Anyone interested in becoming foster parents should telephone 1-800-315-4507 for live scan fingerprint services.  While waiting for the clearance, prospetive foster parents should complete the foster parent application package and return it to Homeward Society FFA.

The next step is to contact us at info@homewardsociety.org or at
(714) 642-5215
and schedule an appointment to attend foster parent trainings at Homeward Society’s office and/or online. Topics include agency certification requirements, positive role modeling, parenting skills, appropriate discipline, grieving and loss, how to support abused children, foster parent dynamics, support systems for the foster parent/child, etc., and are ongoing throughout your certification.  Training classes are held monthly and the Homeward Society Foster Family Agency office.
